What a night at the Gossies Awards 2019!
I'm just home from the most amazing weekend in Dublin & Clare (A busy but great one!)
I was so excited to be shortlisted as one of the finalists for the 'Girlboss of the Year' award at the 2019 Gossies.
I was shortlisted among some of the most amazing business women I know. A huge huge congratulations to Marissa Carter of Carter Beauty & Cocoa Brown tan who won the 'Girlboss of the year' award - Such an inspirational lady!
What I wore
Each year the Gossies is a super stylish event. Having looked back on photos of previous years, a lot of the ladies wore full length dresses. I never really have the opportunity to wear full length dresses so I jumped at the chance for this occasion!
I popped down to the ladies in "The Ivory Closet" in Limerick for a dress. The Ivory Closet rent dresses. If you have an occasion for a really special dress, I highly recommend taking a trip to their shop. They have the most stunning collections of formal dresses for hire.
I chose this beautiful red full length gown by 'Alex Perry'. It was so flattering - shoulder pads to shape the dress (I love any dress with shoulder pads - It's such a shame they're not used in more dresses. I find they give great structure and shape to a dress), lace detailing on the back giving a really feminine look. It's a very classic dress. I really loved wearing it!
You all know me at this stage - I love ANY excuse to wear a hat so of course, I had to make some little piece for my head.
The dress spoke for itself so I didn't need much on my head. I made this little floral crown in the same colour as my dress which I think (hope!) complimented it.
Shoes & Bag:
I wore strappy black sandals and my black YSL clutch.
