Day 1 at Royal Ascot 2017

Hi everyone,
I hope you're having a lovely day and enjoying this beautiful weather. 
Today was one of the hottest days of the year and it couldn't come at a better time than Royal Ascot week!
I'm just in the door from the Races. My feet are a little swollen and my make-up has well and truly melted off my face but it was an incredible day. 
Here's a little peak at my outfit from the day....

My outfit actually started with my clutch bag. We got these beautiful clutch bags in stock a few weeks ago so I thought I would start with that and design a hat around it. 
I knew the hat would have to have lots of colour as there are so many beautiful colours in the bag which meant that the dress had to be kept quite simple.

I decided to go with this large front facing disc made from pink patterned silk fabric all the way from Thailand. These fabrics are almost edible. They are soooo beautiful to block and to work with. I went a little bit crazy with the detailing (It was 11pm on Monday night and i think my creativity might have ran away with itself). I added hundreds of bubbling pearls, silk flowers and butterflies. You guys know at this stage how addicted I am to the little details so the more the better in this case! 

I stopped there though (Can you imagine if I ended up with a butterfly dress or something! Ouch!). I went a nice simple cream silk dress and black shoes.

Royal Ascot is the best place in the world to style stalk. I could have sat there and watched the style go by the entire day. It's also a great place to meet my beautiful customers (I tend to tap on their shoulders and frighten them saying 'Hi, I made your hat!').. Poor Eleanor (Pictured below) was one of my targets today, hehe! 

The highlight of my Mums day at Royal Ascot is always watching the Royal parade. Every year, we take a stand early (I'm not joking, it's sometimes an hour before the Queen even comes out!). My Mum is OBSESSED with the Queen so we cannot miss it any year!
