How to change from brunette to blonde!

Hello lovelies,
I hope you’re having a great day!
Following on from my last post on introducing you to my new blonde hair, I thought I would share some tips with you on how to change from brunette to blonde and maintain healthy hair!
I’ve always been good at looking after my hair. It’s naturally very thick and healthy (Good genes I’m guessing) but I also look after it.

Here are my top tips:
  • Trim it every 6-8 weeks. It gets rid of dead ends, preventing it from splitting (Also makes it easier to comb through, especially when it’s wet!)
  • Use good Shampoos & Conditioners. My favourite ones are from Kerastase. They’re a little more expensive than normal ones but you can really tell the difference.
  • Hair Serum – Again, Kerastase wins hands down for me for hair serum. I literally talk about this one single product on Snapchat all the time! It’s extremely nourishing and leaves the hair silky smooth. I would never be without it!
  • Straightening & curling my hair – I try to leave my hair natural as much as possible but if I’m working in the Boutique or have an event, I HAVE to tame it some way! Of course, it’s a good idea to use heat protection sprays but I have to admit, I never think of them!
  • Brush your hair regularly to avoid knots forming.
  • Allow your hair to breathe at night – I always wear my hair down at night rather than tied up in a bun or ponytail.

How to maintain healthy hair when you’re colouring it:
  • Smartbond – Sandra added Smartbond to my colour when lightening my hair. If you’re colouring your hair, I HIGHLY recommend going with this treatment as it maintains the condition of your hair.
Smartbond is a two step treatment – The first part is added to the colour and the second part is combed through the hair for 10 mins before shampooing. It’s super easy, only takes 10 minutes extra, it’s soooo worth it. My hair is in the same condition as before I changed it!
  • Shampoos & Conditioners – Again my favourites are from Kerastase. Here are pictures of what I’m using now:

  • Silver shampoo which is actually purple! The purple pigment in the shampoo neutralises any brassy yellow tones. I just have to use this once per week!

  • Regular Treatments – Going forward, Sandra recommends getting hair treatments done after each colour service. She uses an in-salon treatment called Vita-Ciment which is apparently fab for your hair!

I hope you found this post helpful. If you’re thinking of changing your hair or have any questions, feel free to leave me a message or send me a snapchat (My Snapchat is @jenniferwrynne)
If I can’t answer, my sister Sandra would be delighted to help.
