I got asked recently why I don't wear jewellery. I hadn't really thought about it until somebody commented on it (Thank you for your feedback!) so for this post, I thought I would go with the biggest piece of jewellery in my box!
After all... 'Life is too short to wear boring jewellery!'
When I'm planning an outfit for an occasion, I usually start with my clothes then my hat.
If you've had a chance to look through my Hat Gallery, you will know, I adore lots of detailing on my hats - Feathers, flowers, swirls, pearls, you name it, I love it!
But by the time I have my clothes chosen and hat made, there is very little room left for jewellery. I adore jewellery but sometimes the hat is enough to complete the outfit.
I picked up this embellished neckpiece in Zara about two years ago - It has been missing the last twelve months (Sisters, eh!)
I love the detailing on it (a mixture of pearls and gold beads). It works perfectly with the sweetheart neckline on this jumpsuit - almost looks like an extension of it!
For the hat, I decided to go with a plain black felt beret because the neckpiece is very detailed - These style hats are also the perfect accessory for a Winter coat!
What do you think of jewellery with hats?
Would you agree that plain hats can take detailed jewellery? Extravagant hats need less jewellery?
I guess it's different in each case and of course, there are no rules - It's whatever you feel works best on you!

On a completely separate note, I'm very excited to be going travelling for a few weeks over Christmas (Dec 14th - Jan 14th) with two of my best friends!
I have just updated the 'Contact' section of my website with the dates which I am free for appointments before I go and when I come back.
The lead time for making a bespoke hat is one week.
I will be sure to update my facebook, instagram and twitter during my travels.. It's going to be an exciting Christmas and an even more exciting 2015!
You're very welcome to my little blog - A compact diary of my work, travels and my passion for fashion!
