I hope you are enjoying the weekend!
On Saturday, I was at a First Holy Communion. Communions and Confirmations are tricky occasions to dress for as its hard to know whether you're underdressed or overdressed.
I purchased this white skirt in Australia a few months ago and had it in the back of my mind to wear but wasn't sure if it would be too much.
When I arrived to the church, I saw all the ladies walking in. Everyone looked like they were going to a wedding. Ladies were wearing brightly coloured dresses and accessories. Their hair was groomed and make up immaculate. I think the skirt was a good choice - very comfortable to wear and appropriate for the occasion.
My sister was in Born clothing in Carrick-on-Shannon on Friday and spotted this pink/gold top. (Great having sisters to do your shopping for you, eh!) It was a great length with the skirt, not too short (showing too much tummy!) but also not too long (too long with these style skirts can be a little frumpy looking!)
When I was leaving, it was a little miserable outside so I wore this black bolero over my shoulders. For my accessories, I kept it very simple going with black shoes and clutch.
As I mentioned earlier, I got the white skirt in Australia. I bought it twenty minutes after doing a 14,000ft skydive so I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the shop!
It was a little boutique in the St Kilda region of Melbourne. I'm sure that's absolutely no help to you so I have done a little bit of research and found some available to buy in Ireland..
If you click on the pictures below, they will open a new window so you can purchase them online. I tried on the red one from Maje a few weeks ago in Brown Thomas Galway (I'm sure it's available in BT2, Dublin aswel). It's gorgeous on - the skirt has a great bounce to it! I think my favourite of the three.
