I hope you're having a great day!
I want to firstly start off this post by thanking you all for your kind comments on social media about my two outfits these past two days. It genuinely means so much. I love dressing up and find any excuse to, so it means a lot to receive such warm positive feedback.
If you've read my blog post from yesterday, you will know my dress was handmade by the amazing Shauna Fay, an Irish Designer based in Newry, Co. Down.
Today, my dress is also by Shauna Fay - I'm addicted to her beautiful creations already!
I have to admit, when I saw it on the rail in Shauna's studio, I fell in love with it but thought it may be a little Summery for March. Now don't get me wrong, it possibly was a little Summery for March but..... I loved it so much when I tried it on that I didn't really care - It was coming with me!!
The dress is a nude/peach colour with the most exquisite colourful lace fabric and thin velvet belt.
My pink teddy coat comes everywhere with me these days - it was perfect for over my shoulders with this dress.
The pattern, colours & style of the dress were quite busy/detailed so I knew the hat needed to be quite simple. I loved the idea of wearing the boater style hat. I had never made the boater style before but at midnight before we left for the airport, I decided to give it a go (Last minute, eh!)
Here's some pictures of the piece. I used red velvet ribbon and roses to finish it along with some leftover lace from the dress..
Since I've been going to Cheltenham the last number of years, I've made some great friends there who I bump into every year. Here's some pictures of us catching up (Weren't their outfits just stunning!)
