DubaiHi everyone, I hope you're having a lovely weekend. I'm finally getting a chance to sit down and write a blog post about my recent trip to Dubai with the girls. If you've been following me on Snapchat (My username is jenniferwrynne), you'll know myself and Lorraine went to Dubai in March. My friend Claire is working over there so perfect timing for a few days away. I got loads of questions about what we did, where we went etc so I thought it's best to pop them all on a blog post here... Dubai: Where we stayedMyself and Lorraine went travelling to Thailand and Austrailia a few years ago. As you can imagine, we stayed in loads of different places. Everywhere we went, we booked hotels through a website called Agoda (www.agoda.com) Ever since then, no matter where I'm going, I always book my hotels through Agoda and always seem to get a really good price. Lorraine managed to find a gorgeous little hotel called 'Somewhere Hotel' (Strange name I know) on Agoda (Click here for the link) It was a beautiful 4 star hotel in a really good location. Anywhere we wanted to go was only a few minutes away in a taxi. If you're looking for a hotel recommendation in Dubai, I highly recommend this one. Dubai - What we got up toThere is no end to what you can do in Dubai and a few days is never enough but here's some of what we got up to... Saffron Brunch at Atlantis The PalmOn one of our first days, we went for brunch in Atlantis the Palm. Brunch in Dubai is not like brunch in Ireland. In fact, it's completely different. It is basically free food and drink from 12:00-16:00 and it's unlimited! There is every type of food and drink you can imagine, a DJ, dancing - Pretty much like a nightclub during the day?! It costs approximately €100 for the day. Here's a little picture of Atlantis the Palm. I robbed this from Google (My Photography skills aren't that good!) .. Doesn't it just look amazing? Such a beautiful hotel. It's not the only hotel that does Friday Brunch in Dubai but it's definitely one I recommend! Rudimental, Atlantis The PalmAfter brunch, we went down to the beach where there was a live concert (All part of the package we got). Rudimental and Robin Schultz were playing. Here's a few more pics from the day... (Click to enlarge) Dubai MarinaThe following day, we took a trip to the Dubai Marina. It's such a beautiful area, a completely different world. We had breakfast in a restaurant called 'Baker & Spice'. If you're near that area, you should definitely pop in. They had the most delicious pancakes I have ever eaten! The Dubai Mall and Burj KhalifaAfter that, we took a trip to the Dubai Mall and Aquarium. It's an amazing shopping centre. The shops in the Dubai Mall are shops we all know and love. They have loads of designer brands (Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc) aswel as high street shops (Topshop, Zara, Aldo etc) When I'm away and shopping, I love buying things I can't get at home so I didn't do too much shopping (believe it or not). The Burj Khalifa is right beside the Dubai Mall so we spent the evening around that area. We ate in a restaurant called 'The Meat Co.' which is right beside the Burj. At night, they do the most amazing water show - some pictures below... (Click to enlarge) Desert SafariThe day we spent in the desert was definitely one of my favourite days in Dubai! If you saw my videos on Snapchat, you will know how much I enjoyed the day. We went dune bashing (I had never heard of this before!) where basically we were in a jeep driving though sand dunes but it felt like we were on a rollercoaster. The more we screamed, the faster the driver went! Here is a picture I took from Google to show you what it's like (I didn't have any from outside the jeep on my phone) After that, we stopped at a little place in the middle of the desert where we had dinner, drinks, a live concert, fire show and a camel ride. Such an amazing experience! Abu DhabiAfter a few amazing days in Dubai, we took a trip to Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi was only one hour drive from where we were staying in Dubai so it was easy for us to travel to. Our first stop was The Emirates Palace. Oh. My. God. I genuinely have never seen anything so amazing in all my life! Afternoon Tea in The Emirates Palace, Abu DhabiEmirates Palace was where Sex And The City 2 was filmed (That's where I heard about it before). There is quite a strict dress code there. You are not allowed to wear open toe shoes (e.g. flipflops), you aren't allowed wear shorts (Declan and Andy were giving clothes to wear!) so just incase you're planning a visit, it's good to know! Claire booked Afternoon Tea for us as a little treat. Here's a picture of the coffee which was served with gold flakes on it. The Grand Mosque Abu DhabiWe also took a trip to the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. We went to it around 6pm which was a great time to go. It was lovely and bright when we got there but by the time we were leaving, we got to see it lit up at night. It's an incredible piece of architecture. When you go to the mosque, women must wear an Abaya (traditional robe / clothing for Muslim women).. More pictures from The Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi We also took a trip to Corniche Beach (And ate ice cream until it came out of our ears!). It's a beautiful beach in Abu Dhabi. The weather was approx 30-35 degrees when we were there so it was perfect beach weather. You wouldn't think that looking at my skin without a layer of Cocoa Brown though! That's it from my trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It was the most amazing week away ever!
I never normally go away at this time of year as it's busy hat season but it actually did me the world of good to get away. I came back feeling so refreshed and ready for a crazy Summer! Hat season is well underway with Weddings and Ladies Day at the Races so no more holidays for a while! I hope you found this blog post helpful. If you're going to Abu Dhabi or Dubai and want to ask anymore questions, please don't hesitate to. I'm delighted to help you if I can. It's an amazing city. Hopefully I'll be back again soon! It is indeed nice how you shared the information is a simple yet well-detailed manner. I have taken time to write a content and i would like you to rate it for me.
